Project management is free forever — unlimited projects, unlimited members, sprints, boards and agreements. When there's money to split, the producer buys the Studio plan once and everyone on the team gets it. Contributors never see a price.
Every plan includes the whole project management side. The differences are what happens once money is on the table: the fee when a distribution pays out, and the governance tools a producer needs when the split gets real.
Most teams that need revenue sharing are the ones who can least afford a per-seat subscription. A five-person jam team that hasn't shipped anything has no budget, and charging them monthly to organise unpaid work is backwards.
So the planning side has no paywall and no seat limit. Boards, sprints, sprint review, the tech tree maker and the IPM chart stay free regardless of team size or how long you use them.
When there is money on the table, the person who can pay is usually the producer. So that's who pays: the Studio plan is bought once per studio, and every contributor inherits it. Royaltea also takes a percentage when a distribution actually pays out. Both only matter when money changes hands. If your project never earns, Royaltea never charges you.
What the fees actually mean
Distribution fee
Taken when you distribute revenue to your team — 5% on Free, 1% on Studio, 2% on Pro-owned projects, 0.5% on Enterprise. Charged on the amount distributed, not on your total revenue.
Who pays for Studio
The studio owner. One flat price, any team size. Every member of the studio gets Studio features while they're working in it, and none of them are ever asked for a card.
Pro vs Studio
Pro is personal: it follows you into every studio you belong to. Studio is for the team: it covers everyone in one studio. A freelancer on three teams wants Pro; a producer running one wants Studio.

Storage for builds, art, audio and documents: 1 GB on Free, 50 GB per member on Studio and Pro, 500 GB on Enterprise.
Questions
Will sprints and boards ever be paywalled?
Never. Project management stays free forever — that includes sprints, task boards, sprint review, the tech tree maker, and the IPM chart.
Do my contributors have to pay?
No. The Studio plan is bought once by the studio owner and covers everyone in the studio. A contributor never sees a price unless they choose the personal Pro plan for themselves.
Is there a free trial of Studio?
There's no trial because the free plan isn't a limited demo: it's the whole project management product, plus a monthly taste of the AI assistant. Upgrade when you're changing a live split, running a distribution, or want the assistant unlimited for the team.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Upgrade anytime, or downgrade to Free — you keep access through the end of your billing period.
Do you charge per seat?
No. Team members are unlimited on every plan, including Free, and Studio is one flat price per studio. Charging per seat would punish you for bringing on the collaborators the platform exists to help you find.
What happens if we never make money?
Then you never pay a distribution fee. The fees are a percentage of money actually moving, so a project that doesn't earn costs nothing beyond an optional plan.
